Playing Goldilocks with Romance - October 30, 2012

Of all the elements that make up The Anatomist’s Wife, the one I’ve received the most questions concerning, and the most conflicting opinions over, is the romance. Specifically, the amount. First off, people want to know if it’s a romance novel. And the answer is no. It isn’t. It’s most definitely a historical mystery. But there is undeniably a romantic subplot—the strength of which will vary from person to person. For example, i... Well, here we are folks.  15 days until the release of The Anatomist's Wife!   I have to admit, I am starting to flip out a little bit.  But in a good way.  :)  I'm posting my Public Appearance Schedule below, so please stop by and see me.  I would love for you to say hi!  If I add dates, I'll be sure to edit this list accordingly.  And, as always, this info can also be found under the Events tab on my website.  Stay tuned, because on W... Dancing Phalanges - October 17, 2012

Well, it's been one of those weeks.  I never got a blog written on Monday, and here it is, almost 11:30 at night, and I'm just now getting Wednesday's blog posted.  (*sigh*)  You all know how it is.  You already have too much to do, and then things start popping up out of nowhere, most of which are dire emergencies.  Anyway, after dealing with a minor crisis today, I don't feel up to much more than writing about a few relatively trivial things, namely nai... "You can hear me on the radio..." - October 12, 2012

Thank you, Reba, for that introduction, and my 4 (almost 5) year old niece for introducing me to that song.  (She even props up her Ken doll in a chair and sings to it just like Reba sings to the tied up man in her video. Yes, it's hilarious.) But, seriously, I'm being interviewed on the radio for the first time today, so you really can hear me.  The gracious Sarah Delia and Julia Meek will be hosting me on their show Midday Matters: ArtCentric on No... Tuning In - October 10, 2012

I have to say, I'm not much of a TV watcher.  I would simply rather read or do something else with my free time.  Although, now that we have a DVR, I do find I watch more than I used to.  I have my regular line-up of shows I record, and I love when late September and late January roll around and we get to check out the new shows the networks debut.  But rarely do any of the new shows make it into my regular line-up.  It's... Monday Matters - October 8, 2012

Happy Monday, everyone!  I had a great time in Cleveland at Bouchercon, and met so many wonderful people, but I'm glad to be home, and ready to get back to work.  One of the highlights of my trip was definitely my lunch meeting with my editor, the lovely and talented Michelle Vega.  We had a great time chatting and catching up, and I was beyond ecstatic when she surprised me with my first copy of the final version of The Anatomist's Wife, hot off the press... Bouchercon - October 3, 2012

Tomorrow (Thursday) I leave for Bouchercon World Mystery Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.  This will be my first time to attend Bouchercon, and only my second Writers' Conference.  I'm excited and nervous all at once, and definitely looking forward to it.  I will meet with both my editor and publicist for the first time, and interact with fellow authors, as well as mystery fans.  I'm particularly eager to meet Julia Spencer-Fleming, one of my favorite authors, who so graci...
