MANor Candy Monday - Carnassarie Castle
September 9, 2013
It's Monday, and time for some MANor Candy, as well as info on some guest blog posts and a Twitter Chat. Lots going on!
Today's MANor Candy is Carnassarie Castle, north of Kilmartin, in Argyll & Bute, Scotland. It is a ruined 16th-century towerhouse that I was fortunate enough to visit on my trip to the UK, and my other inspiration for Banbogle Castle. Its crumbling features and part of its floorplan make up the heart of my fictitious Banbogle Castle. My visit to Carnassarie was instrumental in my being able to write many of the ending scenes of Mortal Arts. I learned so much from rambling through those ruins.
I'm being interviewed by Susan Spann over at her blog Spann of Time. Susan is an amazing historical mystery author herself, and her questions were particularly insightful.
The blog Thoughts in Progress is also highlighting me today with a guest post I wrote about my 5 Favorite Crime-Solving Couples. Who are yours?
And tonight I'll be Twitter Chatting with two new historical fiction authors about strong historical women and tumultuous times. Join me, Marci Jefferson (author of Girl on the Golden Coin: A Novel of Frances Stuart, available Feb 11, 2014) and Heather Webb (author of Becoming Josephine: A Novel, available Dec 31, 2013) from 8-9pm EDT. Use the hashtag #histchics to join in the conversation. |
