Last week I was on vacation at the beach, and, oh, my goodness, was it nice. Relaxing under an umbrella reading. Soaking in the sunshine and cool ocean breezes. It's been several years since we spent any significant time at the beach, and I'd forgotten how nice it could be.

The place we stayed came highly recommended, and those people were spot on. I can't praise the SeaShell Condos enough. Located on Crescent Beach on Siesta Key, they're spacious and clean and comfy. Our unit had recently been remodeled, and we loved the decor.

I have to admit, I have a new favorite beach locale, and it is Siesta Key. The sand is very fine and white, so it doesn't heat up in the sun and burn your feet. The gulf breezes were cooling, even in the 90+ degree heat and humidity. It wasn't crowded, and everything (restaurants, grocery stores, tourist shops) was quite conveniently at hand, but not intrusive. Even the seagulls were well-mannered, actually sharing their food with one another instead of fighting over it or dive-bombing people to get more.  

We will definitely be back.
