MANor Candy Monday - Eilean Donan Castle
April 22, 2013

This week's MANor Candy is Eilean Donan Castle on Loch Duich in the Highlands of Scotland. You'll notice that it looks very much like the castle that is used on the cover of Mortal Arts, Lady Darby Book 2. However, I will say that the actual Eilean Donan Castle is not featured in the book. The castle on the cover is meant to represent the fictitious Bambogle Castle, which stands along the shores of the Firth of Forth. When I was writing Mortal Arts, I actually used the ruins of Carnassarie Castle as inspiration for my Bambogle Castle, not Eilean Donan Castle, but Carnassarie Castle does not stand near a body of water. In any case, I'm extremely pleased with the cover art as is.

I was fortunate enough to visit the beautiful Eilean Donan Castle in the autumn of 2010 and snap some gorgeous photos.
