Book Updates - Nov 2011
November 17, 2011
Well, it’s been about two months since I made my last update, so I thought I should fill everyone in on what’s happening.
Production on Lady Darby Book 1 is now in full swing. The Copy Department at Berkley Publishing has written some lovely copy for the book, as well as come up with a fantastic title – The Anatomist’s Wife. I love it! It’s something I probably never would have come up with myself, but it’s absolutely perfect, and ever so intriguing. I hope it inspires people to pick up the book and find out what it’s about.
The Art Department is hard at work on a cover, and I’m extremely excited to see what they come up with. They were enthusiastic about my and my editor’s ideas, so I expect it will be mysterious and beautiful. As soon as it’s finished, and I’ve been given permission to do so, I will post the cover here on my website.
And speaking of my website… My husband and I are about to get to hard work on it. I know it’s going to be amazing and unique - one of the many perks of being married to a talented web designer and developer. We’ve been waiting to see what the Art Department does with the cover so that the site can compliment.
I am working on my first ever set of revisions from my editor. Receiving editing suggestions is a somewhat scary prospect to wannabe and new writers—we hear so many horror stories—but I must say that it has been virtually painless so far. I think it helps that I absolutely adore my editor, and I trust her knowledge on the suggestions she is making. My editor, agent, and I are also compiling lists of potential authors to approach for endorsements of my novel. Hopefully in a few months I’ll have some great endorsement quotes to share.
Thank you all for sharing this journey with me, and for your well wishes and support. You can be sure I will update you as soon as I have more news to share. I hope you all have a blessed and bountiful Thanksgiving.
