Lady Darby Series Updates
August 22, 2011
Well, contracts have been signed, and I should be receiving edits for Lady Darby Book 1 from my editor any day now, as they are due back to her by mid-October, so production of Book 1 is well under way. I have also been given more definite publishing dates for the books. Book 1 is set for November 2012, and I’m told that is pretty set in stone. My best bet is that the release date will either be just before Halloween (Oct 30th) or Election Day (Nov 6th), because publishing release months usually mean the last two weeks of the previous month and the first two of the listed month, but I could be wrong. When I have an exact date, I will let you know.
As of now, Book 1 is still titled A Fatal Portrait, but that could easily change when it comes time to discuss the title, as well as the cover with the Art & Design teams at Berkley Publishing. I don’t anticipate any of that happening until after the first of the year, more likely spring, since the release date is so far out. As soon as I know anything, I will be passing along the news to you. I’ll be too thrilled not to. So excited to see what they work up for the cover. The covers for the historical trade paperbacks that have been released recently have been lush and gorgeous.
Lady Darby Book 2 is set for release in September 2013, but the pub dates for book 2 and 3 are more soft as they are farther in the future. It could be several months earlier or later. Book 3 is set for July 2014. I am in the middle of writing the first draft for Lady Darby 2, and hoping to finish well before the due date set by my publisher so that I will have time to pen something new before starting on Lady Darby 3. There are some exciting story ideas percolating in my brain, and I’m looking forward to getting to work on them. I’ll share more on them at a later date. |
